TUCKER AXUM III (022-13B)

Tucker Axum III, also known as "Trey," began studying LOTUS Self-Defense under the tutelage of Ajarn Mack Petry in Lafayette, Louisiana on March 2, 1995.  Tucker attended LOTUS classes in Lafayette as well as at Ajarn Mack's dojo in Abbeville.  Tucker earned his black belt on October 3, 2003.  Tucker traveled to Atlanta, Georgia in January 2005 to train with Ajarn Michael Weeks and then traveled to Spokane, Washington in May 2005 to train with Ajarn Roy Harrington.

In addition to training in LOTUS, Tucker has studied Judo and Yoshinkan Aikido.  He has taught LOTUS, Knife and Gun Disarming seminars, and ground combat seminars to law enforcement, military personnel, and to martial arts instructors and students.  He has also written various martial arts articles

Martial Way Concepts produced an instructional gun and knife disarming DVD in 2005 with Tucker as the instructor.  The DVD is no longer available, but seminars are.  Tucker is currently located in the greater Los Angeles/Orange County, California Area.

Tucker holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  In addition to managing this website, Tucker actively stays in contact with all the different LOTUS head instructors and is considered by some to be the historian for LOTUS.

In addition to being passionate about LOTUS and the martial arts in general, Tucker is also passionate about flying.  He earned his pilot's license in 2001 and here are some videos of various flights he has uploaded.

Mission Statement for LOTUS Website

This is Tucker Axum's black belt certificate awarded by Ajarn Mack Petry.  The black belt test was completed on October 3, 2003.

This picture was taken in early 2004.  Tucker Axum, Peter Gauthier, and Bill Landry were training at the Lafayette Dojo.  The picture shows Tucker defending against a front snap ball/push kick with a sweep defense.  LOTUS' origins in Muay Thai make it known for its devastating sweep kicks, and LOTUS students are taught the proper way to fall and roll to avoid injury.
