Chuck Quick started studying LOTUS under
Ajarn Precha
Mahachanavong, the founder of LOTUS, at the Mahachanavong School of
LOTUS Self-Defense in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand when he lived there in
1973.
Chuck earned his black belt under Ajarn Mahachanavong. He later
married a Thai national named Lily, also a LOTUS black belt, and the
two of them moved to Spokane, Washington where they opened a LOTUS school
called Washington Self-Defense School.
Chuck passed away in 1990, but not without
first helping to spread LOTUS.
