John Henderson Jr. is a second generation Lotus black belt with over fifteen years of martial arts experience. John, along with his father John Sr., brother Shelton, and sister Shannon began studying Lotus Self-Defense in 1990 under Jack J. Gentry at West Charlotte recreation center in Charlotte, North Carolina.  John is currently a certified personal trainer through America Muscle and Fitness (AMFPT), and also assists in the fundamental training of local night club security.

He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Information Systems from Johnson C. Smith University and an MBA from Strayer University with a concentration in management.  Both universities are located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
